Hysteria Project nominated for Euro Games Awards

French game nominated for the Best Euro Game
The French game “Hysteria Project” by BulkyPix has been nominated for the title of Best Euro Game. In this new categorie as part of the Dutch Game Awards, three European games have a chance of winning the title for Best Euro Game. “Hysteria Project” will compete with the Spanish game “Nyxquest: Kindred Spirits”, by Over the Top Games and the German game “Anno: create a new world” (by Keen Games).
The Dutch Game Awards provides young European companies an international stage to display their professional achievements in the past year. Although the focus of the Game Awards is on games with a Dutch origine, the great number of internationally known Dutch games provide the award show with an international esteem. Killzone 2 and Overlord 2 are examples of worldwide appraised games for PS3, Xbox360 and PC. Star Defense, an iPhone-game, got much attention during Apples international press conferences showcasing the iPhone. The Wii-title Swords&Soldiers impressed the international press and won the title: ‘Best Downloadable Game For The Wii’ And Rocket Riot for the Xbox360 Live Arcade put a smile on every reviewer and player as one of the most fun multiplayer games on the platform.
The Dutch Game Awards have 11 categories also awarding other types of games such as Serious Games, Advergames and Best Student Game.
Silverfit is a great example of a nominee in the categorie Serious Games, the game is a health care application, and helps eldery to keep moving. One of the nominees in the Advergames section is The Volvo Ocean Race. With this game players participated in the Volvo Ocean Race by sailing their own virtual boat. Last but not least is the game “Hollandia” as a nominee for Best Student Game. Hollandia promotes Dutch cultural heritage by sending the player on a journey through a Dutch landscape.
A professional jury will determine the Award winners. The awards will be presented on the 12th of november during the Dutch Game Awards Dinner in Amersfoort (The Netherlands). organised in cooperation with Control Magazine. During the Awards Dinner the Control Industry Award will also be presented.
The Dutch Game Awards are part of the two day event “Game in the City”. The Dutch Game Awards is an initiative of Amersfoort Creative City and are widely supported by the Dutch Game industry as well as Control Magazine, the publication for Dutch Game professionals. The Dutch Game Association has adopted the awards as the National Game Awards for the Netherlands. The Dutch Game Awards have been made possible with funding from the City of Amersfoort, the Province of Utrecht, The Dutch Government and the European Union.
